Kenya Airways is the flag carrier airline of Kenya. It was founded in 1977 following disbanded of East Africa Jointly own aircraft letter in 1990’s Kenyan Government made a move to privatise Kenya Airways and also to commercialize it. In the year 1992 Philip Ndegwa was appointed as the chairman of the newly formed board. His main role was to commercialize kenya airways with an intention to maximize profits. In 1996 Kenya airways Floated the IPO in the market. In 2003 Kenya Airways acquired 49% shares of a Tanzania based aircraft known as precision Air. In 2010 Kenya Airways became a full sky team member .Its Main office is located in Embakasi, Nairobi, Its hub being at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Being a member of Sky team Alliance Kenya airways is the leading airline in Africa. Kenya Airways has managed to reach 51 destinations worldwide with recent commission a direct flight to Europe. It continued to improve its fleet with 32 aircrafts being their latest fleets. Kenya Airways takes pride for being the one connecting the world to Africa and vies versa. This is well executed via a modernized Terminal 1A at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Despite of Kenya airways making losses in the recent years it is still the most preferred Airline in Africa.
